Tim Tebow of the Denver Broncos is an extremely lucky athlete. He’s not on a good team, but since he has started he has a record of 3 and 2, before he started they were 1 and 3, now they are 4 and 5, which is one game away from a .500 record. It might be too early to begin talking about playoffs yet, but they are still in the hunt for them. In his last game he completed two passes out of eight and only had 69 total passing yards, and he’s a starter. That’s unheard of, however, he did score both of their touchdowns in the game, a 56-yard pass to Eric Decker and a 7-yard running TD. In fact he hasn’t had great stats in all the games he has started, but he at least has one touchdown in all of them and 2 TD’s in 2 of them. His passing hasn’t been good; his highest completion percentage is 48.1% in a win against the Miami Dolphins, that’s not even half of his passes being completed. But he keeps winning games.  Now I’m not a Tebow hater at all, it’s just hard to believe. A lot of sports commentators have said he couldn’t hang with the NFL and it would take some time before he began starting games. He went from third string to first in four weeks of his second season passing Brady Quinn who used to be a starter for the Cleveland Browns and has since done nothing for the Broncos. (He really didn’t do much for the Browns either though.) Cam Newton on the other hand has had some great stats for a rookie quarterback, but his team, the Carolina Panthers are 2 and 7 despite his great playing. Now both of these teams haven’t had good records in the past either, but the Broncos are definitely doing better. I’m not a fan of Newton, because I am from Arkansas and I can’t stand the Auburn Tigers and the whole scandal he was in. But Tim Tebow is proving a lot of people wrong in the sports world and I hope he continues to prove them wrong. It’s also interesting to note that Tebow has starred in a commercial where talks about proving people wrong who thought he would make it in the NFL. This commercial was shown last year when he was still a back up. It’s very hard not to like him, but it almost doesn’t make sense how he is winning these games, but more power to him I hope he continues to do well in the future. 

What else happened this weekend? The Hogs won by a lot, but it really wasn’t surprising since they played Tennessee who hasn’t had a win in the SEC all year. It was fun blow out game to watch for us. There have been too many close games for the Hogs as of late. Too much stress when I watch I don’t like it, but it is entertaining and emotionally captivating, so I take the stress I take it and I will like it even though I don’t like it. That made sense right? In Fact Arkansas, Arkansas State and UCA have all had all together 20 consecutive wins in football this season. That’s amazing and great for Arkansas! Now being an Arkansas fan I have been through some tough seasons and some rather good ones, but this is a great one. There’s only a few games left though, until bowl season begins. Mississippi St. and LSU, the last one won’t be easy, but I was listening to the Zone on the Buzz here in Little Rock and they said that we would beat LSU more times than we beat Alabama. For some reason maybe it’s the difference in rivalries we do better against LSU than we do against Alabama. It’s weird, but it’s ok I would rather have them beat LSU than Alabama, but really I would like them to win both games, but that usually doesn’t happen. I don’t remember that ever happening actually. The game is being played in Death Valley (LSU’s Stadium) where LSU always wins though, but we have a chance, we always do. The teams have gone back and forth since the rivalry has begun in 1996. Right now LSU leads rivalry 9 to 6. They have played a total of 54 games over the years, but have not always been rivals. LSU leads in games played 34-20. Up until recently we have gone back and forth though. Arkansas won last year, but I think they can win again. It should be a great game though. I’m not going to the game, we went last year and it was awesome I still have pictures and even made a video of the games we went to too. Those were some good times. I really like the Hogs chances this year too we have a great team.

Both the Cowboys and Bears won by large margins too. That was awesome. And we didn’t get to see either games in their entirety because of certain networks that shall not be named, *cough CBS *cough. I have never been watching a game it was pre empted by another game because it wasn’t competitive. That’s BS CBS. Come on really CBS, any way. The Bears game was supposed to be on FOX but it wasn’t shown here as usual. I’m glad they both won though. 

Junior Dos Santos TKO’ed Cain Velasquez in a minute. It was awesome. It was weird watching it on FOX. It had different music and different videos, but it was a pretty good showing I thought there might have been a little too much talking and pre fight info, but other than that it was great. I hope they do more in the future. I would like to see more than one fight though. But it was done really well. I also really enjoyed Brock back talking to Dana during the pre fight commentary

I finally picked up some new comics. (Now that’s a transition.) I read the first three issues of the New 52 Animal Man comics. It’s really good and very grotesque. It’s all about him being a family man and his four-year-old daughter gains animal powers that are supposedly beyond his. These other animal men called totems who are fighting a war against the “Hunters” who are these beastly monsters that posses people want her. It’s awesome so far there have been only three issues the next one comes out in December. I have never been a fan of Animal Man, but the cover art and art style just really got my attention.
